Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal 2019 - Update

Update 18th Nov 19 - In total, 81 shoeboxes were donated by St Johns and Clayton Brook. On behalf of the boys and girls who will receive these in time for Christmas, thank you to all who contributed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each year we support Samaritans Purse to share the love of Jesus Christ and the joy of Christmas with millions of boys and girls, who would otherwise receive nothing.

We are asking church members to contribute a shoebox filled with goodies. Last year, as a church, we donated 94 boxes to this worthy cause. We propose to do the same again this year aiming for a target of 100 boxes! Instruction leaflets and ready made boxes to take away and fill (50p donation) are now in church or you can use your own decorated box.

For ideas visit the website: https://www.samaritans-purse.org.uk/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox/. Please no toothpaste or sweets allowed this year due to more stringent customs rules. Please remember to include in box £5 for postage or pay online.

Contacts: Gill Lancaster or Susan Parkinson at St Johns, and Kathy Bigio at Clayton Brook.

DEADLINE FOR RETURN OF SHOEBOXES TO CHURCH IS SUNDAY 17th NOVEMBER 2019.
