Operation Christmas Child, 2018 Shoe Box appeal
Since 1990, more than 124 million boys and girls in over 150 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoe box gifts from Operation Christmas Child. This year, the response from generous people at St John's and Clayton Brook churches has been overwhelming. Gill Lancaster has been using all her available space to store almost 100 shoe boxes, each containing Christmas toys, clothes, school equipment and hygiene products. Remembrance Day Services 2018
At St John's church, over 200 poppies were on display to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1 ... all of them knitted by ladies from church. In addition, the poppies on the pulpit were made by children from Clayton le Woods school, and the 20 large felt poppies which completed the display were given to families as they came into church, to bring to the pulpit during the service.
