

Farewell to the Meesons
It was with great joy and great sadness that we said goodbye to Andy and Amy and their four boys on Sunday. Andy preached a wonderful last sermon and then we gathered for lunch and speeches and presentations. Among their gifts was an all-singing all-dancing coffee maker, and also an apple tree, pictured - it is good to see Zac all ready with his spade to do the hard work! It is good to know that they will only be a few miles away, at St John Leyland, so we can keep in touch.

Brothers in Arms tells the story of World War 1 through the inspiring true story of two soldiers, Noel and Christopher Chavasse. These twin brothers were both highly decorated soldiers who served with great distinction in the Great War. Abbott Hall 2018
For families and adults of the St John's and Clayton Brook church family, this year's weekend visit to Abbot Hall in Grange over Sands was a very special occassion. The teaching, from our guest speaker Andrew Robinson, was wonderful and heartwarming, the worship was encouraging and uplifting and the fellowship was delightful (and there was a never-ending supply of food !)
